Personal Injury lawyer
A serious injury from an accident is a traumatic experience which impacts every aspect of your life: your health, your finances and your family. You will likely have many questions: Who is responsible? Who will pay my medical bills and time missed from work? How will I obtain money from the at-fault person? At Minick Law Firm, an experienced Attorney will answer these questions.
No one should have to pay the bills for an accident that wasn’t their fault. You may able to force the at-fault person to pay you for your injury, but how can you be sure that it’s a fair settlement? There may be other people responsible, but how can you be sure? Legal representation is the only way to help ensure that your case is handled properly.

Do I have a personal injury case?
Whether or not you have a case depends on many factors. First and foremost, is your injury the fault of someone else’s negligence? If so, what is the extent of your injuries? If you can prove that your injuries are someone else’s fault, you probably have a case where an injury lawyer can help you. For more information, see our blog post: Do I need a personal injury lawyer?
What is the value of my case?
The value of your case depends on many factors, but most importantly it depends on the severity of your injury and whether or not there is insurance coverage you can collect from. Other factors include the amount of your medical bills, the specific conduct of the at fault party, and the permanency of your injury. Who pays my medical bills?
When you are injured as a result of someone else’s negligence, you may incur significant medical bills. How do these bills get paid? Generally, when you hire a lawyer, your medical providers will charge you for their services but not expect to be paid until the case settles or a verdict is obtained in court. Upon settlement or a verdict, your lawyer will assist you in paying all of your medical bills out of the settlement or verdict. For more information, see our blog post: Who pays for my medical bills after a car crash?
How much does a personal injury lawyer cost?
Minick Law’s personal injury lawyers are paid on a contingency basis. This means that you do not pay your lawyer before they work on your case, and your lawyer will only be paid if you win your case. Your lawyer will not expect to be paid until a settlement or verdict is reached. Nearly every personal injury lawyer in North Carolina charges 33% of whatever they can recover in your case. (If a recovery is obtained, additional costs for filing fees and other legal costs may be in addition to the contingency fee.)
Your Minick Law Personal Injury Attorney Will:
- Investigate the cause of your injury and determine who is at fault
- Research applicable laws and case law that applies to your case
- Document your injuries with medical records, bills, and doctor’s opinion letters
- Represent your case to the defendant’s insurance company, lawyer, or to a jury

We went to Minick Law after working with another attorney for one year and receiving no results. Lakota Denton took our case and in one week he got more done than the other attorney did in one year. He was amazing. He kept in constant contact with us, was professional yet personal, and resolved our case in a little over one month with positive results. The entire law firm made us feel like we mattered. As for Mr. Denton, he made us feel like a friend that truly cared about us, not just our case. We recommend this law firm without hesitation. Mr. Denton, we don’t quite know how to thank you. You put our minds at ease and took a huge weight off our shoulders. You made it completely painless for us. You taught us that there are caring and honest law firms out there and Minick Law is at the top of the list, with Lakota Denton being truly outstanding in this category. Thank you again!Phillip B.
Excellent Job!!! I contacted Minick Law Firm after my car accident this year. I talked to Lakota that same day. He was so kind and understanding to my situation. I knew I had make the right choice to allow him to represent me in this case. Lakota got the ball rolling. Through out the ordeal of Doctor’s visits and Physical Therapy, Lakota always called to check on me. My case is now closed and I think things worked out as they should have. Lakota you have my sincere gratitude. I hope I do not need a lawyer again but if I do I would return to Minick Law Firm.Monique C.
